UK Prices and Specifications for the new Volvo S80

• Prices range from² £24,375 (2.5T S) to £41,725 (V8 AWD SE Lux) on the road.
• Premium power: 5 engines³ (3 petrol, 2 diesel) - with new six-cylinder 3.2 and V8:
  Petrol: five-cylinder 2.5T (200PS), six-cylinder 3.2 (238PS), eight-cylinder V8 (315PS).
  Diesel: five cylinder 2.4D (163PS) and D5 (185PS).
• Premium luxury: 5 specification levels³: S, SE, SE Lux and a new SE Sport, plus a range-topping 'Executive' model to be introduced later this year.

Prices and specifications for the all-new Volvo S80 luxury executive saloon are now available ahead of the new model's arrival in showrooms in July. The all-new S80 offers a desirable and keenly priced combination of power and performance with modern style and Scandinavian luxury. 

PRICES AND SPECIFICATIONS
On the road prices¹ for the all-new Volvo S80 range from £24,375 to £41,725 with higher standard specifications³ and better value compared to its other premium brand rivals, plus its own distinctive style of modern, Scandinavian luxury.

Five trim levels: With the addition of a new SE Sport trim level, there is now a choice of five specification levels for the new Volvo S80 - S, SE, SE Sport, SE Lux and Executive - with a choice of five powerful engines² - two diesels, the 2.4D (163PS) and D5 (185PS), plus three petrol, the 2.5T (200PS) and two new engines, a six-cylinder 3.2-litre (238PS) and a range-topping V8 AWD (315PS).

V8 power from £38,975: The range starts at £24,375 and £24,400 for the 2.5T (200PS) and 2.4D (163PS) 'S' models. The higher 'SE' models are available from £26,925 for the 2.5T, or with the new 3.2 six-cylinder and V8 engines from £30,955 and £38,975 respectively. 'SE Sport' models range from £28,925 (2.5T) to £40,975 (V8 AWD), while 'SE Lux' models range from £29,675 (2.5T) to a maximum of £41,725 (V8 AWD).  A range-topping Executive model will be revealed later in the year.

Stylish, Luxury Interior: Every new Volvo S80 also has a modern and distinctive, ultra-slim centre console which has been developed from the revolutionary floating centre stack Volvo introduced with the new S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon. With a typically Swedish simple and ergonomic design, it contains the key information, ventilation and entertainment controls with additional storage space for small items behind it.

Comfort is maximised for the all-new S80 with ergonomically designed seats with a new generation of Volvo's WHIPS (Whiplash Protection System). Leather upholstery is standard with the SE specification, Sovereign Hide soft leather for the SE Lux, while the SE Sport model offers ventilated and heated leather seats.

World Class Audio: Music lovers will particularly appreciate the all-new Volvo S80. There is an 80W Perfomance Sound audio system with CD and six speakers for S models, rising to 160W High Performance Sound audio system with 6xCD and eight speakers for SE models and above, plus there is also the luxury of Volvo's optional Dynaudio Premium Sound audio system offering an awesome 650W output with a digital amplifier from Alpine with Bang & Olufsen PowerHouse ICEPower^® technology, 12 Dynaudio^® speakers and Dolby^® Pro Logic II Surround Sound.

S: The specification of the entry-level S models includes alloy wheels, a connection for i-Pod or MP3 player, alarm, cruise control and a dual zone Electronic Climate Control with Volvo's Interior Air Quality system.

SE: The SE model, which is expected to be the most popular model, is distinguished by colour co-ordinated lower door and bumper mouldings and larger 17in alloy wheels, and also offers chrome detailing on dashboard controls and air vents, upgraded 160W audio system and leather upholstery.

SE Sport: As well as ventilated and heated front seats and larger 18in alloy wheels, the new SE Sport model offers drivers the added handling benefits and convenience of Volvo's active 'Four-C' chassis (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) with the choice of Comfort, Sport and Advanced suspension settings.  Similarly, it also has speed dependent power steering with a choice of three levels of assistance to personalise the new Volvo S80's to the driver's liking – and pleasure.

SE Lux: In addition to Sovereign Hide soft leather upholstery and Walnut wood trim, the enhanced SE Lux specification includes convenience items such as, Bi-xenon headlights, rear park assist, heated front seats and power passenger seat.

Optional luxury and convenience: Other new luxury and convenience features include the option of heated washer nozzles, heated rear seats and rear seat headphone sockets, plus:

Personal Car Communicator (PCC) - an advanced personal security and convenience feature developed from the Volvo Safety Concept Car (SCC) in 2001. It uses a conventional-looking remote control unit that is able to tell you if the car was left locked or unlocked, if the alarm has been activated and a heart beat sensor to tell if anyone is still in the car. The Personal Car Communicator (PCC) can access this information when it is within 10 metres of the car, or stores the most recent information so the driver can check, from anywhere in the world, to see if the new S80 was left locked. PCC also provides the convenience of keyless drive to do away with having to use the key to start the car or enter it.

Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP) – as a result of Volvo's focus on quality and environmental issues, the all-new S80 offers a world first: a Clean Zone Interior Package (CZIP). The number of sufferers from allergies and other forms of hypersensitivity has grown rapidly so Volvo has developed a 'Clean Inside and Out' environmental programme to create healthier, emissions-free interiors using materials that conform to the international Öke-Tex standard.  In addition to the new S80's ECC (Electronic Climate Control) and IAQS (Interior Air Quality System), CZIP takes Volvo's environmental and customer satisfaction commitment to new levels to provide clean air certified by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. It also includes a function that automatically ventilates the S80's passenger compartment when the car is unlocked, and ensures interior trim materials and components minimise emissions of any harmful substances.

Collision Warning – Volvo's research shows that many rear-end accidents happen because the driver is distracted or failed to react in time, which is why Volvo has introduced an advanced Collision Warning and brake support system to help alert the driver and at least reduce the force and effects of any impact. The system uses a radar to continuously monitor the area in front of the car so that if it approaches another moving car and the driver does not react it triggers an audible signal and a head-up display flashes a red warning light on the windscreen.  If the driver brakes hard the system makes the brake lights flash to warn the drivers behind, but if the driver does not react to the alerts and the risk of hitting the car in front increases, the Brake Support system hydraulically reinforces the brake pressure to provide effective braking. The system also includes an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to help maintain the distance from the car in front.

Bluetooth^® hands-free system – This detects the driver's mobile phone (once registered) and enables it to be used through the car's loudspeakers without switching or using multiple SIM cards. It also displays caller information on the new S80's information panel and automatically mutes the audio.

Ventilated/Heated Front Seats – For cold or hot days, this provides the added comfort of ventilation for the driver's and front passenger seats with electric fans supplying cooled air from the car's Electronic Climate Control system through the distinctive perforated leather upholstery. Three different settings are provided, and the seats are also heated.

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) – The convenience of Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) is available on the all-new Volvo S80. It uses the latest digital camera technology to monitor the space alongside the car to detect and remind the driver if there are any other moving vehicles in the vehicle's blind spot.

Active Bi-xenon headlights – to improve the driver's forward vision, Volvo has introduced Active Bi-xenon headlights for the all-new S80 that swivel up to 15 degrees in each direction to follow the bends in the road.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Performance and technical specifications³ for the all-new Volvo S80 reveal a generous choice of performance and economy. Six-speed manual transmissions are standard with the 2.4D, D5 and 2.5T engines, with the option of the six-speed Geartronic transmission which is standard with the 3.2 and V8 engines.

Service intervals are extended for the all-new S80 to 18,000 miles or two years, whichever is soonest.

Diesel power: Statistics show that economical and tax efficient diesel engines are those most in demand for premium executive saloon customers. Volvo's two advanced, five-cylinder turbodiesels, the 163PS 2.4D and 185PS D5, offer 0-60mph performance of nine and eight seconds, respectively, with low CO₂ emissions of
167g/km and 169g/km each. The 2.4D offers 44.8mpg on the Combined cycle which compares to the similar figure of 44.1mpg for the higher performance D5.

Petrol performance: With five, six and even eight-cylinder petrol engines available, there is no doubt the all-new Volvo S80 provides new levels of performance and refinement.

The 200PS available from Volvo's five-cylinder 2.5T low pressure turbo engine makes 0-60mph possible in 7.2 seconds, with CO₂ emissions of 219g/km and a fuel economy figure of 30.7mpg on the Combined cycle. Naturally, the strongest performance comes from Volvo's two new engines – the six-cylinder 3.2-litre and the eight-cylinder V8, both with Volvo's six-speed Geartronic transmission.

The 3.2-litre has 238PS and is capable of a top speed of 149mph and 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds while delivering 28.8mpg on the official Combined cycle with CO₂ emissions of 234g/km. The 315PS V8 with AWD tops the new S80's engine range by offering a restricted top speed of 155mph and 0-60mph possible in just six seconds yet is still able to deliver 23.7mpg on the Combined cycle and CO₂ emissions of 284g/km.

INSURANCE GROUPS

With a high level of security, including alarm and level sensor to help prevent a tow-away theft, the all-new S80 has been awarded highly competitive insurance group ratings ranging from 15E/16E for the D5 models, 16E for 2.5T models, and 18E/19E for the flagship V8 model. Provisional ratings for the 2.4D and 3.2 models are 16P and 18P, respectively.

AVAILABILITY

The all-new Volvo S80 will be available to order from late April. It is expected in Volvo showrooms in July, with first deliveries to customers from August.
