New Volvo XC90
Volvo has just announced details of a range of design changes and enhancements to the XC90’s exterior and interior, plus the exciting arrival of the 4.4-litre V8 and 3.2-litre six-cylinder engines.
The versatile interior still offers the flexibility of seven seats with 64 seating configurations, but has been enhanced with details such as Aux input for MPA or i-Pod connection (WMA compatible), a new display for audio and telephone systems, satin chrome inserts on various controls and air vents, improved door grab handle design and the introduction of Sovereign Hide soft leather upholstery – which is standard on the new SE Lux trim level.
The range-topping Executive model is also noticeably upgraded with a more premium feel to the exterior and interior with full Executive soft leather upholstery with double contrast stitching for all seven seats (or the option of Volvo’s Inscription™ range of soft leather upholstery), new 19in alloy wheels and chrome C-pillar and door mirror caps, plus Volvo’s awesome 650W Dynaudio Premium Sound audio system with Dolby Pro Logic Surround Sound and 12 Dynaudio speakers as standard.
The Volvo XC90 range is available from £32,820 (D5 S) up to £53,965 (V8 Executive).
All-New Volvo S80 executive saloon
With an all-new, dynamic exterior and refined, luxurious Scandinavian
interior and ride and handling developed on UK roads, the all-new Volvo S80
arrives in Volvo showrooms this summer to give executive car buyers a
distinctive new rival to the traditional German brands.
Performance and economy are provided by Volvo’s popular 2.4-litre, five- cylinder 2.4D (163PS) and D5 (185PS) turbodiesels, a 2.5T (200PS) petrol and two new petrol engines – a 3.2-litre, six-cylinder (238PS) and 4.4- litre, V8 (315PS). As well as S and SE trim levels, there’s the added dynamic ability and comforts of new SE Sport and SE Lux models and a substantially enhanced, range-topping Executive model. Prices start from £24,375.
New luxuries available include a Personal Car Communicator with keyless drive, ventilated and heated leather upholstery, Active Cruise Control with Collision Warning and Brake Support, a Clean Zone Interior Package to help allergy sufferers and a 650W Dynaudio Premium Sound audio system with Dolby Pro Logic II Surround Sound and 12 high quality Dynaudio speakers.
All-New Volvo C70 coupe/convertible
With a unique three-piece folding metal roof that turns it from a sleek
coupe to a stylish convertible in less than 30 seconds, the all-new Volvo
C70 is two cars in one and has been turning heads since its launch earlier
this year. For 2007, SE and SE Lux models benefit from an Aux input socket
for i-Pod/MP3 player with WMA compatibility.
Sport, SE and SE Lux trim levels offer a generous mix of style and comfort, while the five-cylinder 2.4i (170PS) and T5 (220PS) are now joined by Volvo’s D5 (180PS) turbodiesel for 2007 models. Prices range from £26,225 to £33,250 (on the road).
2007 Volvo S60 sports saloon
The 2007 Volvo S60 benefits from a number of changes and is also available
with three years’ free servicing and insurance¹, plus (typical) 5.9 per
cent APR finance through Volvo Car Finance¹.
The most noticeable change for the 2007 model Volvo S60 is its revised ride and handling thanks to a new Dynamic chassis with revised front and rear springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, plus solid bushing. Sport models feature a revised Sport chassis with better body control, while the new SE Sport model has Volvo’s active Four-C chassis as standard.
Subtle exterior enhancements include larger door mirrors with integrated turn indicators, updated and sportier lower front spoiler and new front grille with wider chrome surround large Volvo Iron mark badge. On the inside, all models benefit from satin chrome inlays on air-vents, column stalks and between steering wheel remote control switches, a Sports steering wheel with perforated leather and silver insert, plus Imola sports leather upholstery with two tone colours. Active Bi-xenon headlights are now optional with a facility to change the headlight pattern for driving in mainland Europe, plus Volvo's BLIS (Blind Spot Information System).
All 2007 S60 models have improved specifications, with cruise control now standard on S models, while the Sport models gain chronograph instrument dials, speed dependent power steering, leather sports steering wheel and sports spaceball gear knob.
The new SE Sport trim level has all the new Sport features with the leather upholstery and other luxuries of the SE model plus new Imola sports leather upholstery, Volvo’s Active Four-C chassis and larger 18in alloy wheels. There is also a new SE Lux trim level with pleasurable extras over the SE model such as Volvo’s 13-speaker Premium Sound audio system, rear park assist, Sovereign Hide soft leather upholstery, Bi-xenon headlights and power driver and passenger seats.
For most models, prices have only increased by a modest £100, which now range from £20,370 (2.0T S 180PS) to £29,645 (T5 SE Lux 260PS) with the high-performance 300PS S60 R Geartronic still topping the range at £36,315 (on the road).
Volvo V70 estate
Two new high specification models, the SE Sport and SE Lux are joining the
V70 range above the S, Sport and SE models. V70 models registered between 1
July and 30 September 2006 are eligible for a free rear seat entertainment
system² and available with typical 5.9% APR finance when purchased through
Volvo Car Finance¹.
The V70 Sport model gains extra touches such as a leather sports steering wheel and sport spaceball gear knob, speed dependent power steering and chronograph instrument dials, while the new SE Sport takes all the additional comforts of the SE model and adds the Sport features plus a rear spoiler, larger 18in alloy wheels and Volvo's active Four-C chassis.
The V70 also gains a plush, new SE Lux trim level with desirable features over the SE such as Sovereign Hide soft leather upholstery, rear park assist, luxury floor mats, walnut wood inlays, power driver and passenger seats, plus Bi-xenon headlights and Volvo’s powerful Premium Sound audio system with 6xCD/radio and Dolby Pro Logic II Surround Sound with 11 speakers.
Larger door mirrors with integrated turn indicators are the only exterior change for 2007, while the interiors have all gained ‘one-touch’ indicators and satin chrome inlays for air vent controls, column stalks and between steering wheel remote control switches. There has been a general price increase of just £100 on most models, with prices ranging from £23,110 for the 2.4 S (140PS) to £33,380 for the T5 SE Lux (260PS) and £39,930 for the 300PS V70 R Geartronic performance flagship.
Volvo XC70 AWD estate
A new XC70 SE Sport fits between the SE and SE Lux trim levels and features
larger 17in alloy wheels, Volvo’s active Four-C chassis, speed dependent
power steering, rear spoiler, chronograph instrument dials, leather Sports
steering wheel with perforated leather and silver insert, a new sport gear
knob and handbrake lever with perforated leather. It’s available with the
2.5T (200PS) petrol engine (£31,970) or D5 (185PS) turbodiesel five-
cylinder engine (£31,700).
The SE Lux model gains rear park assist and all XC70 models gain larger door mirrors with integrated turn indicators, satin chrome inlays for air vents controls, column stalks and between steering wheel remote control switches and ‘one-touch’ indicators. In addition, larger 17in alloy wheels, Volvo’s BLIS (Blind Spot Information System), active Bi-xenon headlights with setting for driving on mainland Europe and Inscription™ Electric Silver coarse flake metallic paint are now available.
The Volvo XC70 is available with a free rear seat entertainment system if registered before 30 September 2006. Prices range from £30,320 (2.5T SE) to £32,920 (2.5T SE Lux).
Volvo S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon
Key news for both the Volvo S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon is the
introduction of a 2.0-litre (145PS), four-cylinder petrol and a five-
cylinder Volvo D5 (180PS) turbodiesel engines. In addition, Volvo is
currently offering three years’ free servicing¹, plus zero per cent APR
finance from Volvo Car Finance for all S40 and V50 models¹.
The new 2.0-litre, 145PS petrol engine produces refined performance with a 0-60mph time of nine seconds, economy of 38.2mpg on the official combined cycle and emissions of 177g/km for both the S40 and V50. The 2.0-litre has a standard five-speed manual gearbox only, while Volvo has now made Geartronic transmission standard for the 2.4i (170PS) model, which is available from £18,895. The new 2.0 is available in all trim levels with prices ranging from £17,605/£18,955 for the S40 and V50 respectively.
All models have larger door mirrors, slimmer interior rear view mirrors and a new overhead console similar to that in the all-new Volvo S80 executive saloon. Specification enhancements include front fog lights for S models, information centre for S and Sport models and a rear waste bin/bottle holder and Aux socket for i-Pod/MP3 and WMA compatible. Yet, despite adding around £400 of specification, there are no price increases for the S40 saloon or V50 Sportswagon, while the price of the T5 (220PS) model has been reduced by £500. Prices for the S40 saloon range from £15,730 (1.6 S) to £25,115 (D5 Geartronic SE Sport) and for the Volvo V50 Sportswagon from £17,955 (1.8 S) to £26,365 (D5 Geartronic SE Sport).
