Inscription™ – exclusive new interiors from Volvo for customers with individual tastes

Volvo Cars is now taking a new step forward in its aim to give car buyers the opportunity for more personal choice in interior design.
This takes place with the introduction of Inscription™ – a high class range of upholsteries that includes several exclusive leather interiors in contrasting colours.
The Inscription series is now available for Volvo S60 and V70. Mid-2005 it will also be introduced in the Volvo XC90.

Choice of eight upholstery alternatives for a more personal touch
"Our customer surveys show that many buyers in the premium segment have very exclusive and individual tastes. By gradually integrating Inscription into the model range, we can offer our customers the chance to give their cars a highly personal touch", says Gerry Keaney, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars. The heart of the Inscription series is eight alternative upholsteries in extra-soft leather with unique ribbing in certain sections of the backrest and with distinctive stitching. The upholsteries are matched by door panel inlays in full leather and by floor mats with colour-matched decorative seams.

The Inscription range also includes:

Two different panel trims in aluminium and one in walnut.

A black three-spoke sports steering wheel fully trimmed in leather with aluminium highlights.

The customer is free to choose
Four of the upholsteries feature twin-tone trim, where the distinctive colour of the backrest contrasts with the black trim of the seat sides. In addition, there are four alternatives where the entire seat is in one single colour. "We have recommendations regarding which body colours best match the various Inscription interiors. However, we will also permit more daring combinations if our customers so wish", says Gerry Keaney. The Inscription range is not available on the R models of the Volvo S60 and Volvo V70.
